Great video “Evan & Katelyn.” Lots of important lessons for start ups like Holoseat, some of which we have already learned and some of which are new to us. I was so impressed I just subscribed to their channel! Check it out.

This duo have learned a few things while manufacturing products in their home, they’re happy to share too!

Check out this great post from Adafruit about the history of Cherry MX keyboard switches.  For those who don’t know, we love the Cherry MX.   In fact, the enable button on the Holoseat controller is a Cherry MX keyboard switch with a custom back-lit key displaying our logo (the LED is orange, of course).  Be sure to watch the embedded factory tour video, it is much fun.

Tedium dives into the history of the Cherry switch company and how they went from microswitches to those sweet MX keyboard switches on all of our desktops. Chery received a patent for it’s fi…

We usually save new burn down charts for stand up posts.  But, this one was too good to hold for a full week.  We have completed assembly on all of the controller housings and finished testing the 3D printed parts for the tone rings, closing much of the gap toward finishing the sprint on time.  Woot!

You are looking at our first two-piece tone ring, composed of 36 neodymium magnets arranged in 18 pole pairs.  Normally you can’t see the magnets as they are protected by a cover.  I will begin testing this new tone ring tonight once the glue on the cover cures.

Jig for Assembly

I know, it’s a dad joke that isn’t great with a dated reference.  As a new father, I’m choosing to make it anyway.  That said, this is my assembly jig I’ve put together for making sure the pins stay straight when assembling controllers.  Will definitely speed up assembly as I’ve been spending too much time trying to attach them straight.
