It has been a while since we posted, but we are back now (and back in sprint mode).  This sprint is primarily focused on moving from our Alpha design to our Beta design and some new marketing initiatives.  The first step in the redesign work is to update our project hosting to make it easier to track modifications to the design.

Holoseat v0.3 OSHW Certification

Not only that, but it is Certified OSHW (UID US000058).  What does this mean?

For starters, you can get all of the instructions necessary to build your own Holoseat from scratch online at dev.holoseat.com.  You can also follow the development process at that same site and by following our blog/social media channels.

It also means you are free to modify Holoseat all the way from its firmware to its housing.  Of course, we would appreciate it if you shared your modifications with us so we can evaluate them for inclusion in the next release.  But, the choice is yours to make.  No one is going to force you to share personal modifications.

Thanks to the Open Source Hardware Association for shepherding the OSHW definition and for providing the certification process.  We love the updates to the certification website and are proud to be a part of the OSHW community and movement.

We are sooooo close.  As expected, we will still have a couple of tasks left to do post sprint, but we have now confirmed all manufacturing will be complete by SyndCon.  As will our prep for panels and demos.  LLTS!

One week to go in the sprint and it will all come down to how quickly our team of volunteers, contractors, plus Bryan, and I can wrap up manufacturing of the Alpha test units.  While we would like to be further along (as shown by our burn down chart), we have a couple of weeks after the sprint ends before SyndCon and we are confident we will deliver the Alpha units at con.
